Wilmington, NC — The Housing Foundation of Southeastern North Carolina proudly recently made a donation of $8,182.00 to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, a Wilmington-based nonprofit dedicated to fighting food insecurity in the local community.
This contribution directly supports Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard’s mission to provide emergency food assistance to individuals and families facing hunger in the Wilmington area.
“We are proud to support Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard as they work tirelessly to ensure no one in our community goes hungry,” said Jody Wainio, Board President of the Housing Foundation of Southeastern North Carolina.
Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard serves thousands of people each year by providing emergency food to those in need.
“More and more families are coming to us for assistance,” said Roxann Lansdowne, Executive Director and Chair of the Board of Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard. “This donation will help us to relieve hunger for the many families experiencing food insecurity.”
The Housing Foundation of Southeastern North Carolina works to provide resources to create housing opportunities for a better quality of life in our community. A key part of that mission is the continued progress on the Pierson Pointe Townhome Project. This transformative development will provide homeownership opportunities for our workforce earning between 80% and 120% of the area median income (AMI).

Through the Foundation, funding and zoning efforts have helped establish Pierson Pointe, a new community of workforce townhomes, which will allow teachers, first responders, and others to live in the community that they serve.
Forty-eight workforce townhomes will soon be erected off Carolina Beach Road, south of Monkey Junction, as part of a townhome program by the Wilmington Realtors Foundation.
The two-story attached single-family homes will be built on six acres of land on Carolina Beach Rd. The community is intended to house residents earning an area median income between 81% and 120%, as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Donations are used to help to make Pierson Pointe a reality. You may donate once, or like many of our members, dedicate a portion of earnings each year.
